Please read through the below disclaimers before booking:

• If an alternate location is not prearranged, your Pick Up and Drop Off Location is at 15 E Kirby St. Detroit Michigan, in front of the Park Shelton on Kirby Street right next to the Detroit Institute of Arts. This is where you will be picked up for your tour and dropped off after the tour.

• You will be riding in an automobile that is almost 70 years old and is nearly completely original from when it was manufactured. Unfortunately, there are several accommodations that are not possible with this type of automobile including:

  • The vehicle does not have air conditioning. Please dress accordingly for the predicted weather.

  • The vehicle is not wheelchair accessible, however, a collapsible wheel chair will easily fit into the trunk, and we can help individuals get into, and out of the vehicle as needed.

  • Sorry, no USB or 12v charging ports in the vehicle. The car has a 6v system.

  • The vehicle cannot safely accommodate a child car seat. Children must be old enough to ride without a car seat.

• Some things the vehicle can accommodate:

  • The windows are properly operable. So a breeze is the only air conditioning on hot summer days.

  • The car can operate safely at night, and in the rain.

  • The car has seat belts installed for all passengers. All passengers are REQUIRED to wear a seat belt while vehicle is in motion. Sorry, no exceptions.

• Refunds

  • Detroit Jalopies may cancel, and refund your tour for the below reasons:

    • Severe weather: If Severe Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain, Flooding, Tornados, Hail, Heavy Snow, or Severally Cold Weather, are predicted on your tour date.

    • Natural Disasters

    • Any conditions deemed unsafe by Detroit Jalopies LLC

    • Mechanical Problems with the vehicle: I do my best to keep them in top mechanical shape, and I stay ahead of maintenance. However, with the cars being as old as they are, not every possible scenario can be prevented. Parts can take sometimes weeks to get in, thus making it possible tours in the near future may be cancelled if there is a break down and I do not have back up parts on the shelf. If the vehicle has mechanical difficulties during the tour, you will be brought back to your pick up location and given a full refund. If the vehicle breaks down during your tour, you will be given a full refund, and we will reimburse your Uber, or Lift ride back to your pick up location.

• Other Rules for Riding:

  • Sorry, no animals are allowed in the vehicle.

  • No smoking, of any kind, is allowed inside the vehicle.

  • No more than 4 passengers at a time.

  • Please keep expensive belongings that you can’t carry with you at home. We do not want to leave expensive laptops, camera equipment, etc, in the trunk unsupervised as it does not lock.

  • Please keep all hands and legs inside the vehicle at all times.

  • Doors will remain closed while vehicle is in motion.

  • You will be held responsible for any damage, outside of regular wear and tear, that is caused by blatant negligence. Example, jumping on the car, throwing objects at it, etc. Example of something you won’t be responsible for: The window crank breaks when you go to roll the window down.
